Typical day...

Well I would think that a normal day for a finance officer would be from about 0700-1600 give or take 45 minutes. At my squadron we wrap things up around the office at 1500 on Mon/Wed/Fri and have squadron PT from 1530-1630. Of course things will come up or you might have a really busy day and you'll have to stay late, but that is probably the exception.

When I first got back to Ellsworth after going to tech school and ASBC, I felt like I never had enough to do and I was always bored. I didn't know enough to get invovled with a lot of things and it justs takes a little while to get your feet wet and really figure out how the whole office works. After about 2 months I wasn't bored anymore and I always seem to be busy with work and some sort of project that is going on. I will say that I would much rather be extremely busy and have to stay at work a little late then be really bored and have the day drag on with nothing to do. 9 times out of 10 my days go by fast and are pretty busy.

As a finance LT, you have a lot of freedom when it comes to what you do during your day. What I mean by this is your job probably does not require that you sit at your desk all day long just in case the phone rings. This gives you the opportunity to get away from your desk and get involved with other things that might be going on at the base or in the local community. It is probably the extar things I am involved in that make my day go by fast and keep things interesting. Volunteering for extra stuff also lets you meet people and make contatcs from many other areas on base.
